FPT C16 600 Hp Engines for Catamaran in Faroe Islands

Copenhagen Global A/S recently delivered two FPT C16 600 hp marine engines to its new sub-dealer for the Faroe Islands, KJ Hydraulik.

The FPT C16 600 hp marine engine, paired with a ZF 550-1 gearbox, was selected by KJ Hydraulik for its catamaran - designed for demanding aquaculture sites, where wind and waves present significant challenges. The catamarans are built with robust hulls, modern technology, advanced mechanical and hydraulic systems, and high-quality deck equipment.

The C16 600 hp engine delivers top performance and low operating costs for heavy commercial operations. With a 16-liter displacement it maintains the compactness and lightness of a 13-liter engine. Its maximum power of 600 hp and torque of 2,680 Nm enhance both cruising and maximum speed under various conditions, while increased torque at low speeds ensures smooth operations and maneuverability.

The C16 600 hp engine is also available in a keel-cooled configuration and also supports fixed-speed auxiliary generators, delivering Prime Power of 331 kWm @ 1500 rpm and 397 kWm @ 1800 rpm, rated for continuous use.
