On May 20th 2026, two new specialised Babylances were officially inaugurated at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen.
The Babylances has been co-financed by Copenhagen Group A/S in partnership with the Børneriget Fonden/Foundation for Mary Elizabeth's Hospital, Region Østdanmark and A.P. Møller Fonden with the purpose of strengthening the emergency transport and treatment of critically ill children.
The Babylances are designed to ensure safe and stable transport for children requiring highly specialised care and form part of the broader emergency response capacity in the Capital Region of Denmark.
The inauguration took place at Rigshospitalet with representatives from the healthcare sector, foundations, public authorities and partners in attendance. The event highlighted the importance of close collaboration across sectors in support of critical healthcare capabilities.
For Copenhagen Group A/S, the initiative reflects a broader commitment to supporting partnerships and projects with tangible societal value, particularly where public and private actors work together to strengthen important societal functions.
Most importantly, the initiative is about supporting the healthcare professionals and specialised teams who every day serve children and families in vulnerable situations.
The two new Babylances will now become part of the daily emergency preparedness capacity in the Capital Region of Denmark.
